This is The Truth in Painting. I am curious to now if this was written by Cezanne. This passage was a very complicated one and tough to understand. I am still quite unsure of what the passage was mainly about. However, I think he is trying to say that the truth in painting is the real intention of why the painting was drawn. I thought it could also mean what the painting is trying to tell the viewer(s). On page 7, there is a sentence saying "If the phrase "the truth in painting" has the force of truth and in its play opens onto the abyss, then perhaps what is at stake in painting is truth, and in truth what is at stake is the abyss." I gave some thought to what this is means and I think it means is the "truth" is what people basically see what is on a painting and the abyss is expressed as the true intention or meaning of the painting.

Lastly, my additional thoughts to "The Medium is the Massage" is that I think the passage is directed towards new generations and how the old generations would differ from them. After all, the seven sections do seem like they are going in chronological order of a typical human being's goals in life.
