Response to "In Plato's Cave"
I found this passage to be very interesting because I, in fact, think very similarly to what is being said here. Since the past until this day, I have always been slow in understanding concepts and details showed or expressed verbally or in words. Instead, if a concept was explained through pictures or photographic images, I was able to understand it immediately. I learned in high school that people think in several different ways. Some of the ways are word smart, picture smart, body smart, and music smart. I thought myself to be picture smart because I think and remember things by thinking of a picture or a part of a picture. Also, the saying "A picture contains a thousand words" makes sense because pictures can be looked at in many different perspectives from a variety of people. I think the big picture of this passage is the usefulness of even one picture and how much information it can give people.
