Response to "Preliminary Problems In Constructing a Situation"
What my opinions were after reading this passage was that I found it similar to people wanting accomplish a goal or mission. For example, in the middle of the passage, it is mentioned that the constructed situation is necessarily collective in its preparation and development. Therefore, it says that one person would need to play the role as a director. The preparations and development here would be the preliminary problems that the actors and actresses performing in a play or acting for a movie would have to overcome. When the actors and actresses are fully prepared to perform or film a movie, it is considered to be the constructed situation. Basically, the obstacles one would have to get over would be the preliminary problems and the final result would be the constructed situation.
Response to "Theory of the Dérive"
In the beginning of the passage, I thought dérive simply meant someone to be daydreaming while studying. In the second paragraph of the passage, it is said that one or more persons during a certain periood drop their usual motives and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and encounters they have. This is when I thought it could also mean a person being on vacation in a very clean refreshing and relaxing area and just clear their worries and problems out of their minds. The last idea I picked up on when it said that the dérive could go on for a brief moment or even several weeks, was that it could be stress or a difficult situation a person might be in. For example, a couple could've broken up and felt sad and gloomy for quite a long period of time.
